I have enough fabric to not 'need' to patch little pieces together, but I've done that for years. Like mixed neutrals, patched patches just make a quilt more interesting to me

sewbizgirl your blocks look great! Love the doggie and your greys look so soft.

Sorry for the off-topic, but I need to ask: what is an ort jar? Well, I ''see'' what it is, but... what's the purpose?

    Playing catch up:
post #703: Jeanne S, I am headed straight for the loony bin for sure!

    Great progress and pictures everyone!

I love these colors and fabrics. Working with each one is such a treat. I had more cheddars than yellows in the stash so went with that.

JeanieG and Fraew your patches look perfect!! Glad most of us are getting caught up!
i am working on another Floral Irish Chain With A Modern Twist quilt--I made my first for my SIL and liked it so much decided to make another. And I am working on the idea of another scrappy quilt after that. Things are quiet around here right now so I have sewing time.

Sorry KalamaQuilts, but Ort is a German word meaning place, as in village or small city.

It is archaic, may have many meanings I suppose?

    ôrt
    noun archaic dialect
a scrap or remainder of food from a meal.
    Origin of ort
Middle English, from Middle Low German orte

I'll add my other two ort jars, and then stop distorting the reason for the thread I just think they are fun and hate cutting thread out of my roller chairs and vacuum beater bar

#1 I've been using for about 8 years, started when I cared for my FIL for 3 years, didn't want MIL grumbling about strings.
#2 I just started last October for english paper piecing, there are two quilts worth here.

Go ahead, you know you want to...show it next year mystery time!
ack, don't know why #1 is upside down..
