Sure like that layout---looks like floor tiles. Will be interesting to see how close it is!

Ohhhh.... very good guess... That would explain the big logs.... but do you think there will be an alternate block? I think pretty much all Bonnie's quilts have two different blocks.... or sashing? Or maybe she'll do something with all the black that hasn't been used yet.
I like her guess (I like her fabric choice too). I might have to follow her blog for a while!
    Thanks!

I was wondering if we were going to be going kinda modern and slash and insert black strips into those big neutral bricks or maybe snowball them like the lozenge blocks in last years leader/ender project.

The reason I think this isn't the layout, is because it doesn't work nearly as well when the star points are lighter than the areas in between the points, as would be the case with Bonnie's colors.

Thanks for the explanation about the ort jar.

I'm not prepared for entering in a challenge like this, but I love to see the progress of all of you. Thanks for showing, it's being very funny trying to guess the look of the completed quilts.

That layout guess is really interesting. It's also good to know that she calculated we are about half way there. I was waiting for someone to do that math for us.

Today was finally a productive one for me. All of my 4-patches are done. I still have to cut the large rectangles but am not sure which neutrals I want to use for those yet. Needs more thought.......that's my OCD/matchy-matchy side talking (LOL).

Here's what I have done so far.

Interesting guess, I really think there has to be a reason for the decap geese, and so far I haven't seen any guess that accounts for that. Unless w/ her layout she thinks there is going to be some "plus" or "cross" in the center, matching w/ the flat geese heads?????

silk, it is never too late! I have never done anything like this before, and am really surprised how much fun it is!! I thought it would be too hard, but so far that has not been the case. If not this year, join in with us next year!!

Kassaundra, I may be wrong, but I think if Bonnie was going to match something up to the light/open part of the headless geese, she would have placed more emphasis on achieving the exact 1/2" width of the light part to make sure that everyone's piecing nested correctly later on. I'm thinking we haven't done the unit yet that will go next to those. There's a lot more black to be used up somewhere.
