Sandra-P, all the black triangles don't need to be the same. They just need to be the same in each set.

Since I know my way of making the trapazoids works I am doing all the cutting first and have quite a ways to go yet. So I couldn't help myself, I laid out the cut pieces to see how it will look. My yellow is Bonnie's red. And I am working w/ yardage not scrappy.

Whew! I read it to mean that all the black 2" squares had to be the same throughout. Now I see that I can use different black as long as the all match in the same unit. Thank you for pointing that out to me.

Thank you AmyBible ~ I did find it now. I'm not doing the mystery at this time, but sure like keeping up with it and planning it for the future.

My clue 3 is done and here is a sampling of them. also started on clue 4. Oh my! Having to tug some of those centers to get to match. Have 3 sets done so far. Going slow and carefully.

    Beautiful, AlvaStitcher!

I forgot to cut my neutral bricks for clue #3, so will start with that today.

I just want to see the blocks PUT TOGETHER! LOL I feel like I'm petering out, especially with having to make MORE santa hats!
No, NO! Don't give up Julie! Just make 2 sets by next weekend. The next clue won't be out until Saturday the 26th - leave the tree & decorations up until New Year's. You'll be able to catch all the way up after Christmas. Hang in there!

Kassaundra - your black flower fabric looks beautiful with the "butterfly" blocks.
Alva - Love your scraps! It's going to be a great quilt.

I've been cutting in between baking - and discovered that I can't use many of my blacks as I don't have enough for even 8 sets. I do have several larger pieces to use. Hopefully I'll get a chance to use up more of my smaller pieces of black somewhere in the quilt.
