    I had brought some pressing and trimming w/ me to work today, but we were to busy. When I did get a minute I got the iron we have here out, and the guys I work with (I'm the only woman at this station) have it caked in sticky crap on the iron surface, so I didn't get any further today. Tomorrow I'll be home and may get some done (depending on how tonight goes)

    Post 978: lovely guess Krista! We have enough 4 patches for 30 sets of 4; not enough for Santa hats and matched sets.

    @kristakz, that is very pretty!!
    @Kassaundra, are you in a fire station? You'll have to take a tube of iron cleaner and stash it at work for future projects! lol

    Finally, here is my progress so far. It is SO hard to put aside an unfinished clue and start the next one when it comes out. But I'll follow Bonnie's recommendations and do it anyway.

    And yes, that is GI peeking out on the right side. I gave myself permission to start this year's MQ if I made a lot of progress on that one (and it's almost ready to start assembling).

    Krista - Love the layout guess and your fabrics!

    I haven't started Clue 4 yet, and won't be able to today. Will have some time later in the week, so will have to see how far I get before the next clue comes out.

    OOO I'm so cross! I forgot about the companion angle ruler when I cut my 2" X 4.5" bits.
    Then I used the Easy Angle ruler to cut my blacks.

    It took me 8 or 9 samples working with stitch width to figure out how to use them together I don't have a lot of blacks in my shrinking stash so no do-overs. What a dork.

    today is a new day! Rob is making pancakes, which always includes one shaped like an animal, life is good.

    did you cut rectangles for the center piece and then cut easy angle triangles for the blacks? I would never figure out how to combine those! Could you use the companion angle ruler on your rectangles to cut off the corners so they would match your triangles??

    Worked this afternoon after church on some more Clue #4. Coming along. Only 13 more to go! Yahoo! Might be done by time for next clue. My goal this week though is to get FMQ done on quilt I made for Grandbaby's room. It has been pieced, layered and pinned for a couple months. Can you guess that I have not been eager to FMQ it? LOL
    I will have to do a lot of SID on this one and I don't like to do that. Quite a bit of eye strain so I have been putting and putting it off. But Christmas is just a few days away and it is supposed to be for Christmas. Need a kick in the butt to motivate me I guess. Anyone else like that or is it just me? I am a terrible procrastinator. Ashamed to say that.
