She will love it. It's uniquely hers and you did such a nice job. I'm getting that holiday feeling!

yes. he's now in london. he has a nce 'flat' with a good room-mate. classes have started and so i hear less and less from him! i'm happy he's doing something out-of-the-box! he announced he was leaving mid-september and was on the plane october 2nd. i made his quilt in less than 3 weeks, a record in all ways for me. oh, and i used wool batting, and i have to say, i love it! nice loft, warm and easy to work with. he skyped me and he was under it as he was having a bad day with an infected toe. glad he liked the quilt, sorry for the toe issue.
have a great thanksgiving! will your son be there? i was just in tx for a week with my kids and dgd. such fun!!

London in Dec with a quilt and new classes? He will be having such great fun. What is he studying?

Hard to miss the kids over Xmas isn't it? Next year we will be meeting up with our kids in Australia where we lived for many years. We have wanted to go back and visit for years now and decided to combine holidays for all of us with the Xmas season. Maybe next year you'll go to London? Any excuse to travel and visit the kids is my operational motto.

i am dying to go to london! daniel is a playwrite and is attending the central school of speech and drama at the u of london. he will get his masters in play- and screen writing. he has been produced all over the place, and if i may brag a little (as if you could stop me, lol), has directed, produced, written, acted, sang and danced, did lighting, stage manager and written the plays. he is ahead of the class in experience. he started doing plays at age 4. he would gather around the older kids, tell them the story and then have them act it out. at six we made him a lightboard for his birthday. did i see this coming? You betcha!! i am immensely proud of him, as i am all my kids. he is the only one that had a fire in his belly and knew how to use it! have i posted a pic of the quilt? you'll need sunglasses!!
i miss the kids all year long. i just got back from a week with 2 of my children and my dgd. can't wait to go back!!! of course, the more i go to dallas, the longer it will take me to save for london! so torn!! daniel is supposed to be producing and directing a play in austin, tx, in january. i may try to sneak in a texas trip and go see him. he was right here for years and i loved that he checked in periodically. i sure miss his bear hugs!! but, he is pursuing his dream and i am so glad for him!!

Lucky you.........How very very cool! Artistic children are both a a delight and a different kind of worry I have found. The fact that you even knew what a lightboard was shows me that he came from a family with some artistic interests.

When he does the play in Austin let me know!! My DD & SIL have made their home their and they participate in a huge number of the regional art events of all sorts. They're thoroughly involved in the young professional scene there. Bet they'd enjoy each other immensely.

Now this AM I better sit my backside in my studio, turn on my spanish lesson and work on a challenge/gift piece............
