I've used wood and lino blocks to print on fabric, along with rubber stamps, bobbins, nuts (the metal kind, though walnuts might look kinda cool...hhmmmmm ), onions, and other miscellaneous "stuff". Are you having trouble?
This is a great place for ideas, btw.

Trying some celery bases, that sounds fun. I had some good luck with a one day dried out cut onion. The rings were uneven and slightly bumpy, ditto letting my lemon dry a bit before printing with it.
Am also loving just smearing several colors of paint on the fabric and then over brushing and then stamping.
Ah I love playing!!!!

Watched segment 902 of Quilting Arts on TV yesterday and the gal was using the Rit Color Remover on fabric but she was sprinkling it on also to give an unusual effect. I have been to 3 stores and cannot locate that product. Have to try Michael's one of these days.

Right... I forgot to mention that I let the celery, orange slice and lemon slice dry for a day first. Love your star fruit and onion.

Thanks for the tip on letting the fruits and veggies dry for a day before printing.
I wanted to let you know that our Walmart carries the Rit Color Remover in the laundry section.

Thanks Wendy, I will look next time I go to Walmart. My Walmart hasn't carried several things that others do. No clothesline rope for making baskets or paintstiks or paintstik type products like others have mentioned their Walmarts have.

Dottie- I like what you've been doing. Don't know anything about misty fuse, so I'll have to check that out.
The fruit stamping is really neat.....so many great ideas.
I'm going to "play" with some earlier mentioned techniques that include bleach and acrylic paints.
Suzie- I use regular acrylic paint on fabric (no textile medium) if it is something just for me. I have a bottle of the textile medium purchased at Michael's for $1.47 (1 part medium 2 parts paint ) and I usually use a big brush meant for stamping. Your puppies are so cute!

The language and methods I use to try and find craft goodies over here include a lot of mime and a lot of cell phone dictionary use. LOL Just try to get across the idea of acrylic gel medium for fabrics.................I don't even know what it is in English! So every way I can use basic products is a help.
