    Finished clue 2...
Iceblossom - Thanks for asking about the new folks. This is my first mystery quilt. I’m keeping up so far..but these units are smaller than I’m used to! I’ve already learned some new “tricks” and am enjoying it so far!

TX325: Your colors are wonderful. Glad to have another person who is also new to the mystery process.

Thank you! I’m hoping my substitutions work out okay at the end. I struggled with these a bit. I used the strip method (first time) and my machine decided to try to eat several of them. LOL. These took a bit longer to make than expected!

TX325 your blocks are very pretty!

I have step one completed-only making half the number of units in hopes of catching up. I can make more blocks later if I want a larger quilt. Played with step 2, have it figured out, so hopefully can get those done and start the next clue soon. ordered a few more grey batiks for background. My fabrics look pink in this picture, but they are lavender.
Thank you for your encouraging posts! I needed this! 😍

TX325, I love the blue and green!

    jillmc, those are gorgeous!

I didn't quite get clue 2 done. The first batch are sewn, and I'm about 1/3 of the way through the pressing/trimming. I used my black neutrals, and also cut a second set with white neutrals, and have sewn the first pass on those. I don't know if I can manage doing light and dark for each neutrals clue, but that's my plan at this point.

My clue 2 blocks are all sewn, but need pressed and trimmed. I have NO free time right now...maybe next year I will just save the clues and start my mystery quilt in january when it slows down at work.

If you don't have a straight stitch plate....try and get one. The straight stitch plate can really help when stitching triangles to keep the machine from eating the points.
