Good morning! I'm having some problems linking the PDF but here's Clue 5
    https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2023...part-five.html

There is quite a bit of story and the special fabric before we get to the unit and numbers..

Have fun! I won't be home until Sunday or later to start myself

Ah, the PDF version is now up!
    https://quiltville.com/pdf/Indigowaypartfive_full.pdf

Units and counts start on the bottom of Page 2. Notice that we have some variations to keep track of!

I will most likely use the "stitch and flip" technique.

It's kind of funny as I just finished up a top that used this exact block, so I'm very practiced at this. I am one of those that can not get any type off covered corner block to turn out. It's suppose to be more "fool proof" but not for me!

I cut my center blocks exact size, then oversize the outer triangles a bit so I can trim down to exact size.

I'm set up to put the binding on a quilt today. I've had three sitting on my sewing area for two weeks now so it's time to get them finished up.

I am thinking I might use Jodi Barrows (square in a square method) on this one. I took a class from her years ago and we made these blocks. I have her rulers.

The directions never state 'sets of 4', but is that what everyone is thinking?

I think I will have to wait and see how these are used in the quilt before choosing my fabric. My choice of a very busy constant neutral is complicating matters, as none of the possibilities I'd envisioned as the special navy look good surrounded by that neutral.

    edit

Lest I lead anyone astray, I'm now thinking it doesn't mean sets of 4.

it's doesn't mean sets of 4 for this one, as Boniie gives the number of indigo squares needed in total. Compared to the other clues, this one has a lot less blocks to sew.

I was thinking of cutting in sets of 5 of a particular color, not sure how that will work with some of my leftover strips but I am not using a special fabric. Paying more attention to the overall count than in groupings. I'm thinking the picture of the elevator is sort of a clue on its own... but who knows?!!? that's part of the mystery

Since there are fewer blocks and since we are using the focal fabric, I'm thinking these will be used as block centers or maybe sashing centers and then quilt corners and along the quilt edges. Just a guess.

Almost done! This one has been the fastest to paper piece. It's also the closest I have ever come to using all my fabrics. Paper piecing takes so much extra fabric.

Yes, I think that makes sense. Judging by the highlighted fabric, I'm wondering if we'll have a more elaborate pieced border than usual.
