I figured out what I'm doing! For the clue 7 QSTs, I'll use one of the possible focal fabrics I had put aside, and I'm replacing the fabric I chose for the square in square block (luckily I'd only sewn three) with 3 FQs from my shelf, which are more cohesive with the clue 7 QST navy.

(As often happens with my BH mystery quilts, this one is going to have multiple personality disorder, with a hodge podge of different fabric genres.)

Yikes -- I have removed myself from the sewing area. I cut twice as much red/blue fabric as I needed to for Clue 7 -- you get two blocks per one square of each color fabric... I'm hoping we be able to use up my mistakes in a 2nd block. But hey, if I'm going to overcut I think now was the time to make the mistake!

So am just going to kick back and watch some tv until the Rose Bowl. We have enough food in the house and I cooked a tray of bacon this morning so no cooking is required of either of us.

Hope you all have a nice day whatever you decide to do!

I really love your blue fabric, Jeanne…block is great!

Clue 7 hourglass blocks are done so now I’m assembling. It’s a cool block and I think is perfect for a QOV…I’m using a constant blue, as well…

Jeanne and Teen your blocks look great. I've been working on clue 5, while cutting out clue 6.

I've about conquered clue 6, but wanted to lay out a block from clue 7. Fabrics look better than I thought. Last couple of days, I wasn't very happy with my fabric choices.

    Very pretty, QuiltBaer!

Here is how my block will look. Clue #4 uses the same red throughout, and only 3 different indigos, and I used my 6 quietest indigos for clue 1, so it will look quite uniform. I have 4 red fabrics I will use in the center QSTs. I think my big problem is going to come with the light blues showing in the star point. This is among my darker light blues, so the lighter or busier ones could be a problem. (I could always put aside the ones that really don't work, and make a smaller quilt).
