BlueBonnets, love how vibrant your quilt is!

SkubaK, nice to know I'm not the only one who can't count. I finally finished all my blocks (now I have 3 extra) and am almost done trimming. Might have a sample block before the week is out.

Everyone else, so glad to be a part of this thread. You're keeping me motivated to keep going.

Bluebonnets, I agree, the photos help you see the pattern better than in person. :-) People keep saying that you have to step back to see the pattern. I kept stepping back... but then I climbed the ladder to look down on the bed to take the picture, and voila! when I saw it on the computer screen, I think that was far enough back to get a good idea. :-p
Carol in WI, I'm working on the borders on mine too. Curious to see what you've decided on.
Kassaundra, it looks like you are quilting quite far out to the edge. Will you be putting a sash between the blocks when you sew them together, or will you be able to seam the units without a sash?

I am using the existing sash (the pieced one) as my sashing.

Absolutely gorgeous, NZ.... I think it's a huge improvement over the original design and colors.

Siodach, love yours too. Your colors are beautiful.

I think she meant the narrow strip that is often used to piece together a QAYG quilt.

Yes I did too, the pieced sashing unit I am using as the joining sashing.

Kassaundra, Are you going to quilt in the sashing? Or just use it for joining?

Yes I am going to do a simple straight line quilting similar to what I'm doing in the blocks after joining them. Since they are going to be 3 inches wide I figured they would need some quilting.

I'll post pics of the way I'm doing it when I get that far.
