Proof of some progress! Just like I added purples to my pinks, I added them to my garnets. A couple of these are getting closer than I'd like to the darkest pinks.

I used up the white that was in my stash, am about halfway through this step (and I didn't cut the squares from last time), these were laid out on the piece I bought which is in the wash now. I have enough squares to get started.

Iceblossom, I love your assortment! I found some that will work. I was very low on garnet types but I'm doing okay. Someone mentioned charm packs and I have some so I'm scrounging!

As I previously posted, I was able to get 8 triangles from a charm square, using the BH triangle ruler, but modifying the method. Had I just cut strips, per her standard instructions, I would have only gotten 6 per square.

I have finished my half-hearted version. Here is my tub o’ MQ units through Clue 4. Clues 1 &3 and 2 are hiding underneath Clue 4.

Ice blossom the purples look great!

I finished cutting all the triangles today which feels like a major accomplishment! Progress was made.

I tend to do things in batches - cut some, sew some, press and trim some! These little devils do not seem to end!!!

Wow, I'm seeing these units in my sleep! I said I had about 40% done but I was wrong. I now have about that much finished.
The good news is that I found enough garnet types to cut the rest out.

SusieQ, me too! These little units are never ending. I dont have much of a variety on these either. Hmmm, I wonder what Bonnie meant when she said that these units were the "Backbone" of our quilt.....

"Backbone" makes me think of sashing....but even with the amount that need to be made are not enough for the entire quilt.

Maybe they will be part of a block that will create a chain, or link other blocks together - something that holds it all together - like a backbone!

I'm wondering if these units are some sort of a border? I have no idea though.
I don't have the correct die so I have to trim down to get the block the right size.
    That's a whole lot of trimming !!
