LOL, I know where you shop, Pet! I just received my order and it included the bird tracks and octopus fabrics.

    Hi Everybody,
I'm considering doing this on a small scale, just to be in on the fun. I noticed in the first clue, there aren't counts for the different sizes. Is this pattern going to be given in only one size? I only want to make a small one. So I guess at the units I will need, hoping I don't make too many?

Sewbizgirl - I am only making 1/2 the pattern, hoping for a lap quilt this year. The last 12 years, I have made the full size she listed. I don't need another full size quilt! Come and join us, I think some of the others here are only dong 1/2!

The size is in the introduction, 78 x 78 a square quilt, and I don’t think she has ever given counts for different sizes. Perhaps someone with more mysteries under their wings will chime in on that one.
I’m watching from the sidelines anyway and hopefully it can be modified to a rectangular version.
Loving the fabrics and colors everyone has chosen!

The past 2 years I made a lap size quilt about half size of the full pattern (which is clearly why I was able to finish each week) . I made half the number of units listed plus 1. So if Bonnie said make 20, I made 11. I had some leftovers and had to make more of some things (particularly blocks for the borders), but nothing major.

Hi, Teen and sewbizgirl. So glad you're joining in.

Teen, it will be interesting to see a version with yellow for purple!

sewbiz, Bonnie never gives specifics for smaller versions, just says do 1/2 to start with.

I'm just about finished with my 9-patches. Sewing, pressing and trimming in batches of 10; if I leave all the trimming for the end, it won't get done.

Here is my fabric…..The multi-color orange is very small print…one flower is less then an inch so I think will be ok…..one teal ….multi yellows to replace purple…. Low volume white/soft white scraps aren’t shown…I’m doing all the units…78sq isn’t that big for me…. Snowing here so I’ll be in sewing room today now that chores are done…yippee!

Thank you, joesmom, for the warm welcome!

Hi, sewbiz….I’m a late joiner, too. I had to ponder for a awhile and decided to just go for it…

Teen, your fabrics are beautiful. I had thought having a print fabric would be pretty in this mystery. Can't wait to see how yours turns out.

Great job everyone else on finishing clue 1 whether you are doing the entire quilt or only half.
