I have a dozen more sets to do tonight, but this is a time consuming clue for me. I am cutting out each pair individually with Bonnie's ruler from strips, like her first example . I am getting good results, but it takes time. Yesterday was my only day off this week, I am really feeling the time crunch on this on this clue.
As far as the aqua issue goes, I am using FQ from a curated bundle...I have one full length 2.5 inch strip remaining, and a couple dozen 4 inch long bricks off the end of the end of my sets. Most of my aquas are in the same value range as my light blues, some of them have a lot of green and a few are more blue than aqua...but I made sure to keep the contrast and am liking the results so far.

Did Clue 5 today, pressed and trimmed both 4 and 5. Then prepped for the 2nd row of the Sugaridoo Mystery QAL. Paper piece that tomorrow, then can go back to trying to finosh UFO’s.

edited to add: Oh she is sneaky...but we've got half the cutting already done from clue 4.
More goodie goodie gumdrops!

Guess I need to get my butt in gear and get clue 4 done. At least now I can do them together. I was only about half way done with the cutting of 4. I did finish clue 5 over the weekend.... I just need to square up my HSTs. Good thing tomorrow is a holiday and I don't have anything else to do!

Theodora, you don’t need more quarter squares for this clue, just half square tris to finish the sides of the quarter squares in order to turn them into flying geese. Be careful when using the cut big and just trim method to be sure you have your full 1/4 inch top or all your points will be cut off when you start assembling your geese.
