This was a mystery quilt designed by Modern Quilt Studio, which ran from January through March. All of the fabric was from my stash (including the back, but I don't have a photo of that). It started with the striped fabric that I used for the binding. I purchased it about 14 years ago, when I first started quilting. Our guild quilt show was this past weekend, and, true to form, I just finished it a week before the show.

Joe's mom - I know, right! Think of how much fun this was to do as a mystery!

Woodland lovely quilt.

I am wondering, if you a given free fabrics (like 5 large bags worth), do you add that to your in-stash amount for the month? Or is it consider a freebie? I ended up inheriting my sister’s stash and one piece was a complete bolt of fabric. So it’s lots of yardage. She was a fabric collector. We had a saying we used to say to each other. “The one who dies with the most fabric wins.” LOL 😂.

I've been sewing scrappy/loud string blocks the past week with no definite design in mind. Really, really dangerous! So today decided to make HST. I know I don't have enough yardage for the beige neutral, so looked at the backs of chunks of beige. To my delilght, I have enough of various chunks that when I look at the back, well let's just say close enough!

That sounds like a great idea! Fabric does have 2 sides after all. And I find super scrappy like that to be too "noisy" anyway. The neutral will balance it out. Once done with the HSTs , you can just sew the blocks together and be done

happylab, I'm sorry for the loss of your sister.

I would say that any fabric you take in becomes part of your stash.

Oh, Ta-Da! Another one out the door, or at least finished to go out the door. All from stash (61 X 74) and will go to Project Linus for one of the BIG kiddos that need a warm snuggle. I proved to myself that crumb quilts are not one of my favorite ways to use scraps, but I can officially say I gave it a try.

Three more "from my stash" quilts in progress. Perhaps one more finished for this month. Fingers crossed.

WMUTeach - great way to use up those scraps that are too big to throw out.
