I am. I ordered some wood looking fabric to make it look more like fencing.

Darling pig, Red! I too like the curly tail.

Lawsonmugs, wood printed fabric sounds wonderful for the fence! What a great idea. I too will be making the fenced sashing but I'll be using a dark brown fabric I have in my stash. I still need to measure it, but I think I have enough.

Red, sorry to hear you had to battle Pneumonia for so long. I hope this time you really are on the mend.

I'm still thinking about the fencing also. But, instead of individually around each block, I might do it as a border all around the outside of the quilt. But, I am extremely undecided on the color. As I don't have any brown in my stash. I do have gray though. So, maybe gray would work. I will continue to give it some thought and maybe do a small mock sample to see if I like the color.

I definitely will be making her fence. But I plan on making a white fence with green beside it. Growing up in MS our fences were white washed and grass always grew under it.

toverly, white fencing is a wonderful idea. I have lots and lots of white also. Will give it a think. I am making this quilt very bright. So, it will need a little lightning and freshening in the final border. May jump on your white band wagon.

Judith1005, I have thought about an outside border also. I'm thinking something with flowers. I'm using 30's fabrics so hopefully I have enough of a colorful flower pattern for the "ditches" outside the fence.

I've been playing with different layouts for this quilt since I'm not that crazy over the fencing, particularly since I used white background. Didn't use forethought when I made first block and wished I'd used colorful skies like most of you did.....so, I remembered seeing a cute quilt picture in web abyss that framed each animal (I think it was animals)block differently. I couldn't find it and just created my own.... I trimmed original block to 10 1/2 and finished with borders at 14 1/2. I may use different size blocks throughout but I'll wait and see what the next few blocks look like...

Great border Teen, I think that is being very creative. I like it.
