Thanks for the heads ups. I am trying to print mine out now. Sunflowers, clever idea. I wonder what other surprises we'll see along the way?

Good question, Jane. Here is what Eleanor's website says in the kit description.

"You can choose to make one Large Dresden Plate or challenge yourself with three Mini Dresden Plate! "

I might make one block of each and see which one I like better once we see the whole quilt. I too was thinking of animals only so this is a really nice surprise.

I just remembered that I have a small gadget thing to make mini yo-yos. I think I will use that for the sunflower centers. Now I just need to find it! I'm looking forward to seeing some beautiful sunflowers here!

i'm loving the sunflowers too,i had so much trouble printing them out on my printer so i went to staples, i want to do the trio mini block, and thought it would be easier to use my dresden ruler to cut the petals out come to find out that the pdf template is a lot smaller then the marking on my ruler, the 21/2 lines up with the template but the width on the ruler is about 1/4 inch bigger then the pdf template, is this correct? or did they print out smaller can't tell as there wasn't an inch square on the pdf template to measure,...............

My dresden ruler lines up with the drawn template to about 4 1/4". And if you draw lines around it would be on the drawn lines of template.

ok so my guess would be the template did print out the correct size I have the Darlene Zimmerman ez Dresden ruler and the template print out is a lot smaller then the ruler as the directions say a 2 1/2 strip I want to make the mini Dresden block thought I could use the ruler but the ruler is much wider then template print out they would come out to big, guess im just over thinking as usual............

Using the ruler would be really cool so I get your frustration. If I was making a high volume of dresdens, I would probably adjust the pattern to accommodate my ruler. For a few dresden petals, I ended up just making a template out of card stock... Worked great and was super fast cutting.

Red...I love sunflowers, too... So glad to see a floral in this BOM.....
