I'm going to look around for (maybe) a turtle or a bumblebee to do this month. Either of those won't clash with the farm animals but can still be found on a farm.

I really like the one where the block is hung up on a clothesline also. I think I will still make a Sun bonnet Sue for the Farmer's Daughter and keep the clothesline idea in my back pocket incase another one comes up that I can't think of a substitute. Thanks QuiltnNan for the link to Quilterscache. I forget about that site.

Ladies, this quilt is turning out to be quite the mystery! I am undecided how I feel about it. I think the bigger picture is needed. But, the way I initially viewed this quilt was a children's quilt. I am unsure how to make this all come together.

I really like your ideas of replacing the "farmer's daughter's" block with a Sunbonnet Sue. And, will most likely do the same. Thanks for the great suggestion Toverly. But, I think I will also make the block and maybe use it as a label too. Or, if I need any additional blocks. It just depends on if I need the pieced block to make the balance right at the end. Wowzers, this really is a mystery quilt.

I am getting behind already and I need to catch up on my blocks. Thanks for all the inspiration ladies.

Thank you, Judith!! Get busy, girl, and catch up. I'm undecided about the pieced block tho I love to mix my appliqué with pieced. And, my layout was designed with only applique in mind but a pieced block would be Ok, too. Still thinking about it.

toverly.....I thought the clothesline block was adorable idea, too. Very creative.. I think that would be so cute with the blocks you've got going in keeping with the grass strip.. Just my 2 cents..

Thanks Teen, it is truly a mystery.

Judith1005, I see it as a child's quilt also. I think because that little pig is so dar n cute. I haven't decided on the eye yet. I'm waiting to see what other animals pop up, then I'll give them the same eye.

Finally finished one of my sunflower blocks and will continue working on the 3 small sunflowers with some additions and embroidery. Decided I would do quilt as you go and added hand embroidery and machine stitching on the large one. Then on to the October block.
