Welcome...never too late, it's a quilt-a-long. Go back through this thread, only 2 steps have been posted. 1st page and yesterday's second step.

Sorry for your loss of your friend, Jane.

I have been trading colors with a couple people and the strips are in the mail today.
This is very enjoyable group and the quilt will be a great way to remember.
I have my center ready to sew, its lots of small scraps of yellow.

I'm already getting behind....dumb infected tooth, anyway! Now I get to have an already-root-canaled tooth, re-root-canaled, and another new crown put on it. What fun the next 5-6 weeks are going to be! It could be worse, at least I have dental insurance thru my retirement plan.
And I'll have my 10-yr-old great-niece for the rest of this week as it's spring break for her (Yay, we love it). We don't get to see her that much during the school year, and my mom lives next door to me, so our G-niece will be there some.

On a brighter note, I hope to cut out step 2 either today or tomorrow, but at least we have 2 weeks between clues to get the HST's done. Thanks Jane, for all you're doing for us.

I'm wondering if I did the right thing here. As you know I finished and posted a photo of my pink center. Now I see that maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I didn't stop and think that the rest of the quilt top would have to follow the same measurements as the center block! Maybe I should start over with the correct measurements as everyone else is using. Shouldn't be a problem since we have two weeks till the next clue. 2-1/2" squares look so pretty in pink but I don't know how change the rest of the pieces to fit.
Any thoughts would be welcome here!

sunrise you can use your 2 1/2" blocks. For the HST you would use 2 7/8" or 3" if you want to square them up. Depends how accurate your 1/4" is to make sure they finish at 2 1/2" Your units would end up 12 1/2" x 6 1/2". That should match your center is you used 2 1/2" squares
