I think that's because I trim all those 9 patches before putting them together! I have been constructing this, 9 patch by 9 patch. I'm using 2.5" squares and the scant 1/4" seam, so my 9 patches can be trimmed to 6.5" blocks before I put them together. This helps a lot with accuracy. Only one more round of 9 patches around the quilt and it will be done. I'm already scraping the bottom of the barrel for the right pinks to complete it!

Sewbizgirl, I'm a "serial measurer" and will check dimensions frequently. Quality Control spotted the un-trimmed blocks on my Part 3 pic but I assured her they'd be trimmed before stitching them together.

I hit a snag last weekend and didn't have a chance to work on my Step 3. Will have to honker down and get it finished.

    Everyone's progress looks great!!

Janice, your kitty looks so sweet... I really love your swoon colors, too.

Oh neat. Just read through this thread, and I'd love to join in. I'll be checking my scrap bins tonight for fabrics and see if I can catch up this weekend.

Does anyone know the total number of squares of each colour that are going to be needed? I'd like to make sure I have enough fabric pulled from my scraps before I start sewing, so that I don't end up with a bunch of non-scrappy at the end when I have to add more.

kristakz, Click on the link for 'fabric and cutting' in the tutorial and directions are given for how many triangles/squares/strips, etc.
