40 bazillion of each should do the trick! LOL

Actually, based on Jennifer's (Hopeful Homemaker) calculations and depending on how you make your HST's you would need approximately:

    BACKGROUND: 192 3 1/2" squares and 42 3 7/8 squares for HST's. Personally, I use 21 4" squares and make 2 HST's at a time but please do whatever method works for you! ((or 8 FQ's))

    PRIMARY: 132 3 1/2" squares and 36 – 3 7/8 inch squares for the HST's (or 18 4" squares). ((or 7 FQ's))

    SECONDARY: 168 3 1/2" squares and 30 3 7/8" squares (or 15 4" squares) for the HST's. ((or 8 FQ's))

    Hope that helps - - -

I finally got caught up on step 3. I didn't have enough red or pink scraps to do scrappy, so I decided to use one certain fabric for the secondary fabric. It's a pink with a daisy print on it. I fell in love with it, and I wanted to use it, so here is a good place to do so. This is such a fun sew-along!

40 bazillion is right! Thanks for the numbers (and the person who provided the link earlier). I've got my 2 colours cut, just the background to go and then I can start sewing.

Isn't it interesting how differently we approach our projects??? No right or wrong, just different. Some will cut everything then start sewing and some, like me, will use what I call the 'Music Man' approach; cut-a-little, sew-a-little, cut-a-little, sew-a-little, piece, piece, piece, piece - - -

Anxious to see your progress, Kristakz!

You are all so talented. I love the different palettes each has chosen. Thanks for the eye candy!

Thanks to you Jane, this is a very fun and doable project. I'm just amazed that it's turning out as large as it is!

Thanks givio, I think it's such a pretty piece that I wish I had several more yards of it! I do believe that I'd use a little of it in everything I make.....
