Have you Thanked a Veteran for their service today?

This is Memorial Day... where we ponder the cost of our freedom in precious human life. But it's a good thing to thank a veteran any day!

Great progress everyone. I've been working on mine as well. Will post pics soon.

In honor of Memorial Day, I made a mini quilt - patriotic theme for another swap and contemplated all the lives lost including members of my family in service to our country. And, of course, called my son who is currently serving in the Army, stationed in NY. He will soon be discharged and I can't wait to see him again. It will be so wonderful to have him home again.

    Giant Scrappy Swoon STEP 6

    24 3 ½” HST’s using your SECONDARY and BACKGROUND colors **
24 3 ½” squares of your SECONDARY color**
24 3 ½” squares of your BACKGROUND color**

Sew eight split nine patch block units then sew two units together each matching your secondary colors, creating a flying geese unit. Make four of these units measuring 18 ½” x 9 ½” unfinished.

**(3 ½” unfinished unless using a different size)

(please note - mine aren't sewn together yet so I can adjust placement as needed)

    Sorry it's a bit late. Holidays & all - - - -

Here's how far I am now. I'm a little ahead of the game-- I blame it on the squares! It was so easy to sew together the last pile of blue squares! The top is now in three long strips. I haven't mowed the grass so it didn't lay it flat, but you can get the idea of how it's going to look...

Oh my goodness, you are a good figure outer. Looks like an Arizona Sunrise. I am working on Step 6, I work on other projects in between steps. Beautiful top.
