nancysp, just sent you a PM regarding the color paint sample chips

I picked up the paint chips this morning. Now for the fun of pulling fabric from the stash! Doesn't take much to please me, does it? LOL

I'm going to swing by Lowes tonight after work and see if they have stocked up on the paint chips. They were out last week. I watched Bonnie's quilt cam last night for the first time and sewed HST for that hour along with heating up and eating dinner. It was interesting. She talked alittle about Grand Illusion but not much more than what is already in the post. Some folks were talking about their color selections that are different than hers.

I find the easy angle ruler to help with the HST. It saves me time and fabric because I could never get them right in previous methods. It has eliminated my need to oversize the fabric and then have to trim down the excess to get them square and the right size. My previous method was make an square, draw diagonal lines on the back, sew two lines and then cut in half.

Thank You QuiltAddict and JeanieG........looks like the ruler would really help because the squaring up the oversized ones hurts my hands.....I tried the method where you sew WOF strips and then cut with a 2 1/2" sq.ruler and that was too twisty and turny even with the rotating mat and the straight grain was already sewn and that left bias edges ..ugg...so the way Bonnie shows it with the imaginary hinge....really looks like it will be best for me ! ! ! Thanks again !

Thanks for the video... I was wondering how the easy angle ruler worked. I think it will be simpler than my usual way of making HSTs.

Two things I was hoping for: No chevrons and no tri-recs ruler. Those really gave me trouble with Celtic Solstice. So now I see there's no tri-recs blocks but will have to wait and see for the chevrons.

I picked up an extra set of paint samples if anyone needs them. PM with your address and I will put in mail to you. I still have to pick out the fabrics from my stash. Will probably need to go to store to pick up the yellow focus fabric. Such a shame. LOL

I need to watch the video, but can't do that at work here. I have the Quilt in a day half square ruler made by Eleanor Burns. Do they work the same way?

Is that the triangle square-up ruler? If so, no, they're not at all alike.
