It is still way busier than my usual style. I'm planning to bind it as is in yellow.

I did the pattern as Bonnie designed. I knew going into this experience that I was not going to be comfortable - I don't like scrappy or patterns with a zillion little pieces, but I thought it was a good opportunity to push myself out of my comfort zone. Changing the pattern seems counterproductive to that goal. I have a niece expected in the spring - this will be her quilt.
This is what mine looks like. I have about 10 blocks completed and when I put the sashing next to the blocks - the seams do not match up. Looks like they are sewn on just matching the top yellow and bottom yellow of the blocks? Is that what everyone else is doing?

I'm loving looking at everyone's quilts. I'm behind (way back at clue #4) but now that the holidays are over, am anxious to get back into it.

I believe Bonnie said the seams do not match. On my sashing, only the center black squares match any seams.

Oh how I admire yall who chose well and these colors blend. I chose a mustard yellow color and it came out quite garish. It just proves that your favorite colors don't always play well together. I did solve my puzzle as to how to proceed. I am taking out all the yellow and replacing it with pink 4 square centers and aqua outside corners. The aqua also will form a star. As you can see below. It works. I am not using the green/white sashing. That will be another quilt in the future.

Well, I think my rendition of the Machinac quilt (based on the "scrappiness" despite none of the fabric choices were scraps). There is one thing I'm not sure of....the addition of the border. What do you think?
I think it needs to be omitted.
I did learn a lot from making this mess- I love piecing, I love cutting fabric, and I love sewing at 4am before getting ready for work. I have extra sashing a and 4 patches left over...think I will use that in the backing. Can't think of sandwiching this just yet...need to work on a quilt with a different color scheme. Lol.

Is there usually such a high number of people who dislike the reveal? Not just here on QB, but on the FB page as well. I don't see people saying they don't like the pattern on FB, but the number of people showing variations certainly gives that impression.

Not dissing anyone for not liking the reveal, and really feel for those who dislike it so much they're concerned about how/if to continue. I'm just curious if this is typical or if this quilt in particular is ruffling feathers.
People with a complaint are far more likely to voice it than someone who is happy. Applies to restaurants, shops, whatever.

Toverly, that's gorgeous. But I'm not up to replacing all my yellows.
