JM: I know, design decisions can be so difficult. Whatever you choose to do, its going to be beautiful.

Are most of you quilting your GI with stippling or have some of you used a different design? I like to choose a quilting pattern that enhances the blocks but since these have lots of pieces and are very busy in their 'movement' with no 'pauses' in between, I'm debating on what to choose .....

Opinions please! I've been looking for a backing for my BHMQ for awhile now. I want novelty but not a "what was she thinking?!" novelty fabric. How do you feel about the scooters? I love the black and white check binding someone posted and want to use that idea with this fabric. Is this too "out there"? Thanks!

http://theinboxjaunt.com/2014/08/19/...uilt-tutorial/ I have just started using this pattern, not on the Grand Illusion but another one and am loving it, so easy and forgiving.

http://theinboxjaunt.com/quilt/free-...ing-tutorials/ As you can see she has a lot more really lovely designs, I am thinking of trying out the "Ribbon candy" because I think it may be quite good on the GL with all the strips to follow, just an idea at present.

And of course there is always Leah Days but I think most may be a but fussy http://www.leahday.com/project1/

if scooters are on the island..... sure.... know bicycles are there.....bet scooters are

my checkerboard was a Moda fabric and did not 'run' at all....that is always a consideration with B&W fabrics.

Julie, the scooters are cute, but it looks like a very cool pink. It would help to see it beside one of your blocks.
