So glad you decided to join in, SuziSew! Lots of us are doing an MQ for the first time. I think your fabrics are great. My only thought is that the yellow might be a bit light, having a white background.

I have my 2 1/2" sqs cut out and have 110 more of the triangles to cut tomorrow. I cut my black 2 1/2" sqs from the same fabric, but I may cut more from other black fabric. I can use 2 1/2" sqs in other projects, or they may be needed later in this quilt. I am planning on doing groups of 10 when putting the sqs together. I have cut my triangles in groups of ten and plan on taking triangles off different piles so my blocks are real scrappy. This is my first BH MQ and love seeing my colors coming together.

Sue, your picture isn't displaying on my iPad. Did you read Bonnie's note in the first clue about the pinks? The paint chips are only a suggestion and they can vary from peach to pink. Wish I'd known that when I was shopping.
Glad you joined us. This is only my second mystery that I've actually participated. I followed Easy Street but didn't make a quilt. (Although I have good intentions and fabric set aside.) Decided to jump in on Celtic Solstice. I was a little leary of all those 2-inch squares but it wasn't as bad as I thought and I'm loving the top. Still needs to get quilted.

It will work but you'll need to follow the directions for that ruler rather than the one Bonnie uses. Just make sure you get your HST the right size.

I have 24 blocks done. I follow Bonnie's recommendation to make half the blocks until the reveal and then add in what I need. I don't make quilts as large as she does. Since I went overboard cutting the 6" squares (I use the eight-at-a-time method for HSTs) I'll probably end up with about 65 - 70 of these blocks. I'm quitting for the day but will get back with it tomorrow.
