Don't ya just hate those paper specks! A trick someone taught me is to lightly mist the paper with water from a fine spray bottle, let it set a minute and then the paper comes off with no problem. I use this method with applique blocks and mist them then put in a zip lock baggie and let them rest for a few minutes. But I don't see why it would not work without the baggie as well!

quilte, i understand that you had posted some pics of a mountie quilt hanger on your front door. if i am correct would it be possible to get the pattern for that. he is amazing and i would love to make one to put on my trailer when in arizona for the winter. i am not able to go this year as i have to have major surgery in oct. that will put recovery into early next year but i am hoping to get alot of sewing done with recouperating. thanks rachelle

All ... FYI ... Only cameo appearances for QuiltE this next while as I'm working out of town a lot. And when I do so, I don't have internet. I do miss getting my virtual quilting fix. And NO, I will not be getting an electronic leash in any form ... It's somewhat liberating!!! And the cell phone is more than enough for now!

Here are the pine cones and acorns, all blanket stitched in Poland.

The trip to the Czech Republic was very brief. No it wasn't a quilt shop - I doubt they exist there. It was a bargain basement clothes, shoes and general cheap tat shop, cheap even by Polish standards, hence the trip across the border. A unique experience. The shop is run by a family of Koreans. Just imagine the fun of being with a husband and brother in law who bash along in bad Polish. Fortunately the languages are close enough for Poles and Czechs to understand each other, even if their first languages are English and Korean. Then there was the maths of it all. The prices were in Czech korunas, but they accepted Polish zlotys at the exchange rate. So I found a really nice cardigan in a mixture of cotton and cashmere with a bit of elastane at 150 korunas, and fainted at the price. The boys told me to get a grip, and told me what it was in zlotys. It still didn't mean anything to me, but we grubbed around and found another cardy for my daughter. After we had paid for everything it began to sink in that we had got them for about £5 each.

And then I didn't let us leave the car park until I had done a few blanket stitches on one of the oak leaves.

Your must be getting close to having all your applique work done, I'm thinking.
And your original goal of quilt top finished for October looks totally do-able ... then the winter to do the quilting?
