We also live in the Sierra Nevada above the foot hills. Extreme fire zone. Sure don't know any answer except pray for rain. Clean out all dead vegetation.

Yes, pray for rain...but not downfall....after the fires ravish the hillsides, then comes the mudslides. Be safe!

Yes, my girlfriend from high school and her DH lost their home and everything in it. My son is a CalFire Captain in a helicopter and doesn’t expect to get any days off until December. It is devastating...

Anael, great finish on your crib blanket...love the gray. Teen, I think your FMQ looks wonderful...we are our own worst critics but don’t be hard on yourself. : )

I finally (after several months) have chosen a sashing for my LTG quilt. I have had the blocks finished with the exception of the checkerboards but was struggling with which color sashing so I finally chose Moda Grunge Chiffon.
Not a great photo but I’ll post again once I get a few sections assembled.

Thank you, jmoore, for the sweet comment on my mini. I'm so sorry to hear of your friends loss in fire. We'll be hearing these stories for some time now.... And bless the firefighters and first responders. Such a difficult and emotional duty they have.

I love grunge. You chose well. Looking forward to seeing more...
