I see quite some Gypsy Wife quilts without borders. Do you think she needs one? I'm still undecided.

So there's this lady from Paradise who is battling cancer and lost everything she owned in the fire, including her brand new Gypsy Wife. Now we're talking about sending blocks and strips to one of the Gypsy Wife facebook group. She then assembles the quilttop and another lady offered to do the quilting.

Members are still discussing how to.......I'm waiting

I finally decided on the borders of the GW. I did a 1" finished yellow dotted one and a 2.5" finished purple one. They're already sewed on. Now I need a backing so that might mean another FART.........yeahhhhhhhhhhh

Anael, now you have me reconsidering a border on my GW. I wanted one then couldn’t find any great examples until today...when you posted yours. It looks fantastic and I love the sashing and border. Hmmm... I’ve already purchased my backing (yesterday in fact). I’ll have to see how much a border would add to my dimensions.

Your GW is awesome!

Your GW is such a happy quilt. Love the borders, they make a beautiful frame.

Awwww jmoore and wannabee, thank you both so much!!

Jmoore, I went to Ikea, purchased a duvet cover set and will use that as backing for my GW. Enough left for another backing

Anael, I love your borders on your Gypsy Wife. I think it frames it out nicely.

Great idea on purchasing duvet covers as backing for your quilt. I love that idea. 2 for the price of one.

I finally (after several months) have chosen a sashing for my LTG quilt. I have had the blocks finished with the exception of the checkerboards but was struggling with which color sashing so I finally chose Moda Grunge Chiffon.
Not a great photo but I’ll post again once I get a few sections assembled.
I love the yellow sashing you choose. This is going to be such a cheerful quilt!
