[QUOTE=Anael;8238455]I saw a finished MSW with the sky made of Ohio stars. I liked that a lot but all Ohio stars.......so I think I'm going to replace some squares with Ohio stars. I made one.......what do you think?

/QUOTE] Anael - how big are you making those Ohio Star blocks? That's a great idea that will give variety to the sky. I haven't started my MSW yet - we're leaving for vacation in a few weeks, so I'll start it when we get back. Meanwhile, I'm just cutting little squares for the sky.

The one I made is 3" finished. Just squares is easier I think I will make stars in different sizes.

Wowzers Anael, that is one tiny Ohio Star block. I love it, I think it looks great there!

This is one project I will keep coming back to look at Anael. All the personalization is fun! She does make sure you can put yourself in everyone of her quilts doesn't she.

Cute Ohio Star and neat idea....but....would it be better if the stars were higher in sky and not right right next to skyline? I was thinking that it may kind of blend too much and your skyline would be obscured. You know what I mean? I love the idea and the idea of different sizes of stars, tho. I was just thinking of placement....

I see what you mean Teen. It's not a night sky though, just stars to give it all a different look I don't mind the stars blending in. I think they still will stand out from the squares. The quilt I saw didn't have any squares, just stars.

I agree with Teen, in that the contrast between sky and buildings is likely to be less defined. If I EVER get around to making this wonderful quilt, I am likely to use a mix of various sky print fabrics and Batiks. I have tons of that type of fabric from making landscape and art quilts.

I only have one sky print fabric and that's a really blue one which I don't like here.
The next part is finished except for the zillion sky blocks. As I resized the picture I noticed one of the ohio parts needs to be turned. I will do that after I had a coffee

Oh Anael, It is coming out so pretty. I love the Ohio Star blocks. I think your small world is going to be spectaucular with them. I really like the idea of scrappy light blues for the sky color in them.

I didn't catch your mistake until you pointed it out. I would turn it also.

I just finished a mini that had to have 2 blocks turned. Now, they really stuck out as wrong. But, I didn't really notice it till I took a picture of it. And, boom, there it was. I took the time to turn them also. But, I was really really glad that the mistake was in an outer edge.
