The start of the hills and sky. For the next hill I need 30 tiny hexies...........don't feel much like making those! Will have to think about that!

Anael, recently I made a shop sample that used "hills" in the border. The illusion was made by placing triangles in the corner of rectangles similar to this example I made up. Hopefully you can tell where the triangles are in each rectangle. You could play with the size of the base rectangle and connecting corner square to create this illusion of your hills. This illusion made its way up to a sky colored block. It may be as much work as the hexies!!!!

Thanks for the idea OK! I made a clam shell block instead of hexies but I still need one more so I might use your hills The hills are round, at least the one Jen uses but mine don't have to be!

The open space on the left is where the 4th hill will be.

I would pull in a little green from the clamshell block and put as the upper right triangle of your "hill". I'd think about using two rectangles for the hills using some green backgrounded florals for a hill of wildflowers....just my humble thoughts! Love the clamsshells by the way...gotta get some thing done...thanks for letting me play with your design!

Anael--yes I am ok. Life just got pretty busy for me for a couple years so I wasn't on the quilting board much. Kids are all graduated from homeschooling, caring for my 81yr old mother-in-law now as needed. I am working on slowing down again...which means more quilting Lord willing!!

Slowing down isn't easy! Take care of yourself!!

I'm leaving on Friday and will be back May 10th. Behave ladies

OK, I didn't make more hills and I might decide to do something else. I saw a finished top and that one has some great features. I asked the lady if I could improve my world using hers She said I could! So I started ripping some blocks I didn't like and seeing hers I now know why I didn't like mine. Same with the hills. She has appliqued trees and I like that much better!
