    Thank you so much Judith!!!

Blueridgebeverly, I do have that book too. You might want to start with the smaller projects. Small Wonders, She Loves You or Home Run are not hard to do.
If you want to start with a quilt you might consider Bonnie Lass, just rectangles but lots of them!

Just go with the free spirit, do whatever you fancy! And if you don't like it that much you can always change a few things and make it work.

Oh wow, Anael! Your GW is fantastic! It turned out beautiful and looks like candy. Absolutely love it! And loving your Long Time blocks so far. You go , girl!

I've missed you all!!! I'm back just today and checking in. I did not get as much quilt work done as I had hoped. I was able to finish the clamshell applique pieces (Anael....definitely hollow out the stabilizer on these applique pieces otherwise it will be a very large stiff block) for my GTSB top so just need to sew them on background. I started some of the other applique blocks and will work on more pieced blocks this week for Section 2. On my Santa blocks, I did the applique but just need to sew, as well. The pattern calls for the applique to be done on a Shoofly pieced block. I love that block (I've made a couple of quilts with this block) and I think I'm going to follow pattern suggestion so I'll be making 12 Shoofly blocks for that quilt....but later. Judith....did you buy any of the Santa patterns? They are all so cute....

Accomplished a lot while there...exhausted most nights but very productive trip.

Welcome, Blueridgebeverly!!! I'm a free spirit quilter...especially with Kingwell patterns...just dive in and create...and re-do if not to your liking. That's what is so fun about her patterns....no strict rules on fabric choices for the pattern to emerge. Please share your creation as you go....

Welcome, RJ! So glad you will be joining us, too! Appliquick rocks for me...just such a nice finish and quick and easy. I've tried all methods so I encourage you to do so, as well, to find what works best for you. And have fun....share your work and know we are here to help, if needed. These gals had my back when I needed it...

Anael, your colors in the GW are so bright and beautiful! I sense that the Long Time palette is a shade softer...You've been making lots of progress while I've been MIA!

Lost everything I wrote........oh well, here it is again hahaha.

    Thanks ladies for the compliments!!

Ok, yes, Long Time Gone won't be as bright as Gypsy Wife. That one doesn't have any white except one strip white with blue dots For Long Time Gone I'm using a wow background so that will tone it down.

Teen, nice to see you again!!! Glad you accomplished a lot while gone.
I'll remember your advice on the clamshell block when I'm going to make it. I guess the same goes for the hexies.

Awwww Christine, thank you!! Yours is beautiful too!! The only difference is I'm using the same wow background throughout the whole quilt. Hopefully that works with all blocks!
