Thank you, Karen.... Fun quilt to make....quite a bit of applique but plenty of piecing, too. Green Tea and Sweet Beans came from designer's memories of England, if I recall. I'm thinking of making another one in 1930's fabrics. Not right away, tho...lol..

Teen, I've been looking at 1930's fabrics too. I don't have a single inch of those so I would need to purchase a lot Not going to happen any day soon I'm afraid

Finished painting guest bedroom...only den & 3rd bathroom to go. I hate painting.. Anywhoo...it is way too hot to do any quilting on GTSB....so I did the first block of Classic Santa quilt. It's been a long time since I embroidered a French knot...lol...comical. My fingers were going every which way, stuck myself with a needle, then had a tangled mess...but, finally did it. His staff a little crooked but oh, well.. 12 1/2" appliqued on a Shoofly block... I'll only post this one block since this is a Kingwell thread but, since I shared doing this quilt with you, thought I'd show you one block..

Oh that's a lovely Santa!!! Since staffs are made of wood, it should be crooked. Keep posting them or use the Sylvia thread.

Teen, classic Santa is wonderful. I agree, keep posting them somewhere so we can see them. I love his staff a little crooked. I'm with Anael, the staffs are made of wood. Wood is not "stick" straight. lol Pun intended.

Thank you, my friends! I appreciate the crooked staff analysis.....I feel better now. This will be another fun quilt pattern. I love the applique on a pieced block. I'm going to have to do more of that instead of just on a solid background. No trapunto on this one. I may just double the batting with a layer of wool batting. Never done that yet so checking off new techniques on this one. I'll continue to share here since you'all want to see them. Going to quilt this evening a little bit when it's no longer 107 degrees...

I posted the link in the Sylvia thread but will post it here as well. I made an album with photos from my rides. I thought that would be better than to post them all in the Sylvia thread.........
