Bravo Teen. Great finish. And, I love the stripey final edge. It looks great with your quilt.

    Have you seen The Avenue?
Piecing but I saw it as appliqué as well. With some math you even don't need a pattern

What is it about Jen Kingwell's patterns. I recently attended a retreat where I saw several different patterns made up and I now have become obsessed with her style and patterns. I will be joining a class for Midnight at the Oasis at my local quilt shop 9/1 and I just can't stand myself. I've found numerous shops on Etsy that have Jen's patterns, templates and fabric. I know I will be unable to die before I'm 110 in order to make all that I have purchased. I hope this tread continues so I will be able to learn all of y'alls tips and tricks along the way. Just can't wait to get started.

Hi Texas_Sue, welcome to our little corner of the quilting world
110 is still very young LOL. I need to live at least till I'm over 200 to make all the quilts I love!
Yes this thread will continue as long as either the mods will allow it or till I quit being a member of this board. And I guess when I'm quiting someone else will take over, like Teen

The Midnight at the Oasis is on my bucket list, I still need to decide what background fabrics I am going to use colour wise.

Teen, I love your new Machine! I am not liking my replacement machine that I had to buy earlier in the year because my machine died. So, will be looking next year for a replacement for it. I will just sell this one. But, for now, it does do the job. And, DH and DS are planning to buy me the Juki straight stitcher I want for Christmas. So, maybe the one I have now will just stay and I'll use it when necessary.

It's always handy to have a spare machine - if you can afford it. I have a Juki straight stitcher and a Brother Innov- is sewing/embroidery machine.
Do you get the Juki with speed control? I don't as it wasn't available here but if, I would have. Not for sewing but for FMQ'ing!

Thanks, Judith.... I used my new machine to finish the pillow and it was wonderful. Not use to manually lifting presser foot (totally spoiled) but ever so grateful for auto threader and cutter. It worked beautifully. So pleased to have it for travel and as a back-up.

Welcome Texas-Sue to the Kingwell thread and experience. Yes, her patterns are very addicting and I have a stack of them to go, as well. I love Midnight, too. I plan on starting Happy Bird soon and look forward to seeing your pictures.

Anael....I have seen The Avenue pattern and I like that, too. It would be easy to convert to applique. Where are you with your LTG? You should be just about done with your speedy sewing....
