I'm hoping and planning to work the mystery as scheduled on New Year's Day but my body sometimes has other ideas about how productive I'll be on any given day. At the very least I'll collect the clues so I can work another time if I need to.

I've got my HSTs cut and stitched today, they just need to be pressed!

I tell you, I was dismayed to see the 7/8" measurement stuff as I'm a Thangles type of gal, so when Part 2 came up I got happy again! I'm going to try to get those done before New Year's Day.

KatieBock242, though part of the fun is doing it on New Year's Day, wondering how it's all going to go together as you go along, you can definitely get the clues and print them out throughout the day to work on and finish on your own. But get them printed that day; the hints will be removed soon after.
Thank you for the information about the Mystery Quilt. I definitely print off the instructions on New Year's Day. If all goes well with the rest of my quilting on the Christmas Wreath quilt that I'm working on which I should have finished in about a week, then I'll be able to start on the mystery quilt.
    Happy Quilting.Hugs Katie

If I'm reading the pattern correctly, the HST's are finishing at 3", correct?

Well, since it appears we've lost 3 or 4 days of posts, I thought I'd re-post the link to the Merry Mayhem mystery: https://merrymayhem.com/onedaymystery.html Scroll down to find the individual steps -- we've had two so far.

After diving into my modest stash today I have discovered I will only be able to do the small size as I do not have any large cuts of fabric...I did find one 2 yard piece of whale print. I’m not sure these will work pursuant to the fabric suggestions but we’ll see how it goes. I am really trying to use up fabric I have on hand in the coming year.

Here are my fabrics. A little on the crazy side with the novelty print, but that’s what I get for sticking to what I have in my stash!

Quossum I like your fabric choice. I too had to shop my stash. The black floral print was what I had left from doing a one block wonder quilt. I originally ordered 10 yards of it but ended up using 6.5 yards.
