Finally got everything cut, although I haven't drawn the diagonal lines on the back of any squares that need it. And I definitely need to label things... LOTS of squares of sometimes minutely different sizes...

I'm feelin' good about my choices even though I see some potential issues here and there, particularly the ability some of the fabrics might have to draw attention away from my admittedly subdued Fabric A. But this group of fabrics is a lot more fun than my last group and I'm glad I took some risks. Now to wait and see if those risks will blow up in my face! LOL

I like your color selections Vadalia! I think it's a blast mixing patterns. I hope you end up liking it.

i too really like the blue fabric. I spent a lot of time trying different combos to make it work but the more I play, the worse it gets. Lol. Hopefully I'll get the gold fabrics soon and I'll see how that looks. If it doesn't work, I'll still have some really pretty fabric to use for something else.

Sharongn, thanks! I actually was still bothered by the Fabric A possibly being overshadowed by some of the other fabric patterns (I think the elements are just too small in that pattern) so I broke my own self-imposed rule to only shop my stash and bought a new Fabric A in the same color palette, which I think works much better. LOL, I thought I'd be done mixing and matching after the cutting was done but apparently it's just too much fun to resist!

That's definitely one of the best parts of quilting- falling in love with a fabric and knowing it'll eventually have a good home in a quilt at some point, but the "when" and "which quilt" are a mystery!

Sorry, I was trying to find and charge my phone with the (slightly) better camera. Attached are my final FINAL fabric picks lol

The Fabric A is directional but I'm okay with that. As the focus fabric I'm guessing it'll stay in larger pieces than the rest which should make it easier to account for the directional aspect. Still not cutting it until I absolutely have to though!

Sharongn, has any of the fabric you ordered come in yet? I'm looking forward to seeing your final choices as well!

    Those look beautiful together, Vadalia!

Today I was in a JoAnn's and just happened to find an entire new and coordinated set for this quilt. Fabrics are in the dryer right now.

I swear I only went in for some 108" wide muslin!

I haven’t had time to pull from my stash but have enjoyed reading the many posts regarding everyone’s definition of fabric color/value and suggestions.

I really like the fabric collections both Teen and Vidalia have posted...great inspiration. Wish me luck. 🤗

vadalia, I love your new fabrics. The butterflies make me think of Spring when we got 9 inches of snow Saturday.
