Think I”m going to stick with scrappy like SusieQOH…I am using a layer cake bundle. I just got home a little after noon so I’m playing catch up.

I'm just spectating this year, looking forward to seeing your quilts. Such beautiful fabrics being shown!

SusieQOH, bummer! Do you have any extra fabric?

OK..finished clue 5 and this is shaping up nicely, so far. I am doing all the same within a block, as I didn't feel I had enough variety to do scrappy.

    Wow!

Part 6 is a whopper! In the best of ways, of course: https://www.merrymayhem.com/new-year...y-quilt#yAQgwo

Which option are you guy's choosing? I'm definitely leaning towards D.

As much as I like D, since I am only doing the QOV size, I’m not sure how well the pattern will repeat…I may end up going with Version B

Part 7, the final step, has been posted: https://www.merrymayhem.com/new-year...y-quilt#yAQgwo

This quilt turned out to have an amazing pattern(s), leaving me for the 2nd time (out of the 3 Merry Mayhem's Mysteries I've participated in) wishing I'd gone with a bigger size. Oh well, I did find an 8x8 version of Option D I like even though I think if I'd done more block for that one it would have been even more impressive.

I'll be continuing to work on this all day & will post pics of the finished quilt top once I've got it done. Can't wait to see all of your's!

Susie…sorry about your dilemma. Nice that your husband is trying to cheer you up.

I'm doing the same size so I had to work with it a little to figure out how best I liked it. I like basically centering 2 diamonds on top of one another in the middle column, then radiating 4 squares out in each direction from the center of that. I love the way it looks in her black & white example, less so in the color example but I think that's just because there's too many colors used in the color version (won't be a problem with my all-green quilt)
