I had to watch the Rose Parade before starting today. I have seen all the clues and am a bit disappointed that what she gave as a mystery is actually a well-known quilt pattern.

Going to finish mine, but I'm glad I just did the lap size.

SusieQOH, don't fret about your mistake. You can make up your own layout with the pieces oriented to the way you have made them. These blocks are versatile and really, it's the fabrics that make the quilt pretty. Don't give up on what you have started.

I agree, SBG. I have an entire booklet on Delectable Mountains. I didn't need to use up that much ink on printing these pages, especially clue 6. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished quilt tops.

I have my blocks into rows but, need a nap. I like the layout D but could not get my brain to cooperate. Here is what I have so far. I will get those borders on before the day is done

Somehow I was wrong! They are going in the correct way. I'm pretty happy about it since I'm not very good at pattern design!
Yes, my husband made me feel better. Humor is always welcomed! Thanks, everyone, for your concern
    Cj- I love yours!

Wow CJ…you got a lot accomplished. I’m still working on my 64 blocks. Vadalia, thank you for the tip… I’ll definitely try a couple of layouts before I sew them into rows.

cjsews, that looks so pretty! Are you using a pieced border or were those unrelated strips along the edge?

SusieQOH, I'm so happy it worked out! It would have been a bummer for all that hard work & fabric to go to waste. Have you decided what option you're going with?

For those let down by the reveal, I can understand it might be disappointing if you're an old hat at that pattern. While it is new to me, I think there's still something to be said for enjoying the intrigue of the mystery but ymmv.

I've always liked Delectable Mountains but have never made one so I'm (maybe) going to see if this will work.
In spite of my troubles I had a lot of fun! Thanks, vadalia, for hosting!
I can't wait to see what we all finish!

    Looking good, CJ!

Susie, good news about your blocks. Before I saw your post I snapped a picture of a layout that would work for all one-way blocks. Maybe it will help someone else. It's kind of a lightening flashing across the quilt.

Thank you Vadalia, for hosting this QAL. I'm not upset or anything. I got to use up some stash and have another lap quilt to donate. For me, the anticipation with all of you was the best part of this year's mystery. Thanks for creating the group!

I agree SBG, no matter the pattern, it is always more fun with our QB friends participating. Thank you Vadalia for hosting this thread for the NY mystery.

SusieQOH, whew! I’m glad it came out correctly after all. I look forward to seeing everyone’s quilts.
