I have seen some beautiful RWB that are not screaming bright or over powering. Consider the Reds and Blues often seen in Civil War collections and use cream rather than white. Those might work for you. Or intersperse some medium blue or gold with the RWB. Just some thoughts. I have the Carpenter's Star on my to do list for a nephew, just haven't found colors that look like him yet.

The second QOV. This will be finished shortly. 63 5" squares made from 1.5 " scrap strips. 1 7/8 yards of stash..bought 3 yards of light fabric to finish so a net gain of 1 1/8 yards. Sashes are 3.5 cuts and outer border a 5 inch cut. Hope to have enough backing leftover to bind. 4 yards of backing provided by QOV group.

OK, if you used the yardage to finish it, I don't consider that a gain. Only if some goes into stash does it count as a gain in stash.

Oksewglad: Very pretty quilts!

I finally finished a quilt top! I have been sorting/organizing, not only my sewing area, but also other places in my house. I needed a break from sewing, I believe.

This is Harmony and it is from GEDesigns. I wanted to use a dark background sometime and this one was it! It’s 70.5” by 81”. For now, it will go into the church quilting pile to be finished when we meet again. However, it is really pulling at me to finish it so if I figure out who needs it, I will pull it out and finish it.

That's a striking quilt, Connie!

Oksewglad, I like the golds and tans with the RWB. That would work well with the 'old' Marine's living room. Very nice.

Oksewglad, nice finishes! Two very different looking rail fence tops.

Retiredteach, fun and colourful, right up my alley. Gudrun has some striking designs, doesn’t she?

Oksewglad, beautiful QOV quilts! Like the way you did them. Retiredteach09, Gudrun's designs are so inspiring and your fabric choices really make it shine. Thanks for posting.
