I really like your colorful Irish Chain WMUTeach, it would fit into any setting. I really love the * pops* of Orange in it. Adds a great sparkle.

I love that you put stars in the open spaces... I'm terrible at putting a fancy quilting design there

Trying to upload a photo of the in-progress tree skirt...

So I meant to post this to the VQW thread, but was looking on here for info about how to post a photo (which has changed rather since I did it last - it has been a while), and accidentally uploaded it here... Which is actually a fortunate accident, since I'd been thinking I should join the UFO thread anyway. And the tree skirt is a UFO (albeit not my most longstanding, lol), so I guess this works... Tho to clarify, no it isn't finished yet ;-)

I have 4 UFOs, of which the tree skirt is the smallest, and so probably the most likely to get done anytime soon!

So I may have kinda tripped and fallen with my entrance, but Hello Everyone!! :-D

(watch it post now with no photo even though it worked the first time...)

Hello and welcome, Panchita! Lovely tree skirt.

Well I managed to get all 5 of my ( smallish) Quilts quilted- biggest was 60” x 72”- now all I have left is one queen and 2 kings.
I looked through the stack of ( need a bit of work yet ) UFOs and 3 of them I decided to just pass on- I don’t see myself ever finishing them , or wanting them if I did- so they may as well go to someone else who may finish them. Soooo
all I have left is borders on 2 and a row of blocks on one. Yea! I’m looking forward to moving on without the stacks of UFOs.
I still have one ufo that is about 17 years old now- it has always seemed so ( huge- time consuming) I just look at it once a year & put it back away- telling myself I just don’t have the time for it ( yet). Maybe- with the other UFOs done I can actually invest the time to work on it.....the only ( commitments) I have looming is a couple baby quilts. It’s a thought. I would love to finally have that box gone. My skills have improved greatly over those 17 years- I hope I don’t have to start over .

Good job, CKCowl!

Welcome Panchita! Beautiful tree skirt...

The Irish Chains are beautiful, ladies! Amazing pops of color..... Love the Stars Ckcowl...I remember seeing it last year in the UFO challenge and I saved a picture of that.

I am finally starting my new bed quilt. Been collecting fabrics and deciding on pattern and finally picked one. It's a King and has a gazillion HST's so I'll be using the HST paper to make 18 at a time. Never used it before so I'm testing it today.

ckcowl 06-27-2020 01:16 PM

I’ve used the HST paper a few times - it sure speeds up the process and mine came out much better than some of the methods I’ve tried

oksewglad 06-27-2020 02:53 PM

ckcowl and Teen here's a method to use making 8 at a time without the paper.
