Yes I think it will make a difference in her overall design. She made a point to indicate the direction, all her quilts have had interdependent patterning that makes secondary and tertiary designs.

Wondering if the chevron unit pointing in the opposite way would make a difference. The first one I made faced the other direction but have since changing to face the way hers are shown. Do you think it really will make a difference in the direction of the chevron? Just wondering....

I wouldn't take them apart, at least once and maybe twice, down the road a couple weeks we made the same clue only opposite. If we do that you will be ahead of the game.
I got about three hours in yesterday, another 20+ w/40+ made. I love my happy place. We are looking for a new house and I'm realizing that while a big shiny kitchen would be great, in all honesty, where I can set up my quilt room is actually the primary need. |
Did you see today's post
https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2018...up-part-3.html what a lot of good ideas quilters have! Are you all aware of quiltcam? Hosted on Youtube http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/live-quiltcam.html Just Bonnie talking :) like having another quilter in the room. Not a class at all, although she can't help herself and explains a lot of things she does. |

Thanks Joe's Mom - I am kind of undecided but would *like* to not buy more. ;)
Am I allowed to explain "non-Bonnie" methods? I did not use a template - just a regular ruler. I will send you a private message with pictures. Stay Tuned. |

I came up w/ a piecing idea for clue 3 no putzing w/ tiny pieces no line drawing. Using wof strips and cutting. Not sure how to explain it or even if I could w/o being deleted, hope I can remember it when I start this quilt.

Yes that is similar to what I had figured out, only I was sewing multiple sets of alternating colors and cutting in the middle of the neutral so not much waste. Where she has waste on each cut that would be the neutral for the next half chevron.

Here's a link I saved when we did the Celtic Solstice. You'll probably have to adjust the strip width as I think these units are smaller (not doing them, so uncertain). https://stitchingcircle.com/2013/12/...lstice-part-2/

I finally finished clue 2 and on to clue 3. My test piece worked so my plan is to cut green rectangles and die cut neutral triangles. Then I can die cut the hst’s separately and not stress the skimpy seams. |

Everyone' sets are looking great - such vibrant colors. I have enjoyed following along and just decided to do 12 of each clue, but now realize that my tan neutrals are probably not contrasting enough. In the meantime, I continue to plug along on the Hunter's String Star pattern. I like it, but it certainly isn't any less intense than Bonnie's mystery patterns. There are 112 pieces in each block...over 4700 for the queen size I had planned to make. It will be a long lasting project:).
