When I stop to think about my own, I know of at least three and this would make four as well as trying to clear UFOs. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png I can spell "over commitment" but I still want to participate and make this quilt with the encouragement of other quilters. A little peer accountability is a good motivator.

Of Course, we can have a week off - the last thing I want is to pressure you into doing more blocks than you feel comfortable with - let's just do this together and at your own speed !!

Another option is to give two blocks a week, and then occasionally have a "catch up" week if several participants are getting behind. These 6" blocks can go very fast, so it might seem scary but I think once you get into it, most are going to find it's not too hard. And if you are using a constant background or theme of fabric, cutting more than one at a time might be a time saver.

It would be different if we had a lot of applique or paper pieced blocks. When I did Affairs of the Heart, one 6" applique block took me about 10 hours of hand stitching, and when doing the 50 PP stars, each star was made of 8 pp sections sewn together, and that was also a lot more work.

Wow! Two blocks a week! I know that will be too much for me, but I will do what I can. I have white on white background fabric set aside now but will most likely need to get a little more eventually. I'm planning to use some of my favorite colors - turquoise, lime, purple, pink - mostly from stash, I hope.

No pressure - please !! As others have said - I can post some weeks and then have a week off - does that sound better for you ?

Hi Teen, Did you make your Sylvia here on a QB thread, as I did ? I am sure I remember your name ? Be great to have you with us on Harriet's Journey!

Yes, I did my Sylvia on the board and shared progress on the Sylvia thread. I remember your Sylvia getting a ribbon at a show. I ordered my HJ book yesterday. I’ll have it if I decide to go for it.

I loved making my Sylvia sampler journey with others. For me, it was very inspirational and motivational. If I remember correctly, I started and finished two other quilts while making Sylvia. Some blocks are quick and some take longer like any sampler. I remember cutting blocks the night before and sitting and sewing them the next day. Went quickly.. I made 140 blocks in 4 months but this one I’ll likely take longer.
