IrishRose - I love it! what a great selection of color!

Seeing a picture makes me wish I had used the black print for all the centers, but as my son would say, what is, is. I still like it.

Irishrose-love your bright and pretty quilt top. I have been lurking and watching all of the progress of everyone's work. I plan on making this Irish Chain but have to wait until a few of my other projects are done.

Irish rose those are lovely!

I love your bright color, Irish Rose! Glad to see others plan on joining in slowly as I know I'll be lingering around here for awhile. I'm only able to work on this in-between other projects.
I love to see the variety of colorways used and look forward to what others are/will be working on, too! |
Very nice colors...thanks for sharing.

Thimblebug, you just sew strips together that are at least 5 inches in length but the width or each strip varies between 1 1/4 to 2”. Once you get a long strip done you trim it and then you sew a scrappy strip to each side of your focus fabric to make a block. It’s a great scrap buster and a good project to take to a Sew Along or retreat.

My progress report - 30 scrappy blocks and 14 background blocks complete.. It is definitely 'scrappy'! Interesting enough, the constant center is a batik with varying colors so it does not stand out as much as I had imagined but that's okay with me :)

Christine, love the scrappiness of yours. It's amazing how such different fabrics look good together.

Here is a picture of my background squares. This is the only one I have done. I will do more this weekend.
