So sorry, I am not reading these posts in a timely fashion. I'm a dahlia competitor and I had to plant 75 dahlias!!

That neutral?????????? It was in my stash. I bought some civil war collections from a seller on ebay named franks11. You can tell him what you need and maybe he can find it.

I also bought a ruler from Debbie when I signed up and got one fat quarter with it. I don't think that is the one she sent, who knows? The corner stones are from my Christmas fat quarter collection.

I"ll try to keep a better eye on this thread. There is one on facebook too. I just bought a lovely Lifetime Forever table to add to the quilting apartment.....yes, I have an entire apartment dedicated to this. I should be renting it out, but I'd rather be my neighbor and it is next door!!

I'm going to need some direction here. I already had these strips sewn from an extravagant day on ebay. I bought 5 large boxes of 1 1/2 inch strips. Debbie wanted us to cut at 1 3/4 inch strips. I want to use these up on my civil war fabric quilt. I'm making 3 of each block, one civil war, one fresh lilacs, one Christmas. I hope to make a dent in my stash.....but so far that has not happened. These are 6 x 6 right now. I think they are correct color ways. I have 51 of these 6 x 6 squares. I think I can just adjust the setting blocks around them and make a wider border for that one quilt. Do any of you more experienced quilters think that is a bad deal???

I'm going to do it they way Debbie wants for the other two.

So Marcia, you have two apartments side by side and one is your quilting studio? How fun! I think I'd never go home.

Your strips look great. Since you already have those strips, I would make them work! I'm sure you can.

Marcia, I agree. You have a great start on a border. You might want to add in the seam allowances for all the cross cuts, calculate how many blocks you'll need for the border, then calculate if you will have enough to make the blocks all around. If all your blocks are the same prints as the ones you've pictured, then you might like to not have to make it with other prints (or you might, I love scrappy! Even it's just a few added in someplace). It's often surprising how much fabric the seams eat up.

I bought an old doctors office. He was building a new one and had no idea what to do with this one. It was perfect for me. I was a weaver 25 years ago when I bought it. It consisted of a 4 bedroom two story house, where the dr. lived and then three additions as his practice expanded. So I converted it to two apartments and this huge house. I have 6 bathrooms.

It was a financial burden for a while, but then I rented out parts of it and now I'm sitting fairly well if my health holds up. I still have one two bedroom, one and a half bath rented out. His check pays all my utilities.

It's been a long road, starting completely over 3 times, thank to the men in my life who fleeced me.

Yes, SBG, I do go home. I walk out one door and into the other. I don't plug in the frig in the quilting area, although there is a working oven there. If I have to go back to the house to get a cold Dr. Pepper. then I just go home and get one. I have TV in both parts, but don't have a computer in the quilting area. I also banned the cats from the quilting area. They love batting.
