Jan, all three blocks are great! Amazing fabrics. How you mean you might still loose points? I use some Go dies and they seem spot on for me. Your blocks look perfect to me.

The go did a great job, I believe it was user error sewing the blocks together. There are 3 points that will be lost when sashing is sewn on. I can live with that for now, but it gives me something to strive for the next time. Jan

You can have all the pieces perfectly cut, but if you sew too scant a seam allowance your points won't be far enough from the edge to survive being sewn to another block or piece. That being said, please don't look too closely at my points! Understanding is one thing, and doing can be another.

Many years ago, maybe 1982, my cousin was going to take a quilting class and I wanted to join her but did not have the $35.00 for the fabric kit and pattern. Times have changed, but I have not. I was so determined to get to quilting eventually, that I felt like the woman in Gone With the Wind. I made a promise to myself that I was going to do this or else.

The husband who refused to let me spend $35.00 ran off with another woman that he thought had money, and she thought he had money, and I was left with all the bills and the property. Their marriage lasted 6 months. I went on to work hard and come out smelling like a rose. I'm the one with an entire 2 bedroom apartment dedicated to my quilts. One bedroom is a cutting room with designer wall, one bedroom for my stash, the bathroom has fabric bolt storage cabinets and the living room is where the long arm and the sewing machines are.

My cousin completed her sampler quilt class and I just had a broken heart when I saw the completed quilt. I think that is why I am so fond of sampler quilts.

If you want to see what is on my bucket list now....Google "No Way Out" quilt.

Sounds like your husband got his just desserts, Marcia. Reminds me of a dear friend who was married to a selfish cad. He fussed at her for asking for $4 for lunch so we could go out together. He ran off with another woman too-- who was also married. Good riddance. Glad you can enjoy your quilting now.

Marcia, I am glad that all is well that ends well but I am saddened by what you had to go through and that you were treated that way.
