On Ringo Lake -- Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt 2017-18
#1521
Good news: Got all the geese joined for clue 7. Bad news: Had them pointing down, rather than up, so they are put together wrong! Before doing all that picking, I'm going to wait and see if I might be able to use them as is. I'll have to see the reveal first.
I hope we do something with the chevron-y pieces tomorrow.

Pagzz- thank you so much for the accuquilt info. I'll check if I have the dies you mentioned. DH bought me a bunch last year, but I haven't been using them. Tsk, tsk on me, I know!
Thanks, again!

sewbizgirl, sorry about your goose pairs!
NZquilter, why do you choose to finger press rather than use an iron? I think I have good results with pressing, now that I've learned not to use a heavy hand. I use a lightweight iron, set the seam, turn up the piece and gently run the iron along the stitching line, and then over. I then spritz with Best Press. I really enjoy the pressing part, because you get the pleasure of seeing the unit for the first time, and it's kind of relaxing.
I finished clue #4 and am now stitching my coral triangles to those units. Some of my browns (reproductions) are really clashing style-wise with my corals. I hope someday to get a more aesthetically cohesive look going in my quilting.

I decided to fix the geese tonight, so I picked out 100 little seams! They are ready to sew again, the right way.
Lisa, I'm sure your fabrics will play nicely in the quilt. It won't be the style of fabric that stands out, but the color.

Well, her FaceBook blog says clue 8 is on the blog, but it didn’t show up on mine.

It's a very pretty block! I'm still working on clue 5 and 7, but I think I'll go ahead and sew up one just for fun.

i have no clue 4 done. Guess that’s what comes first later today!

I made a list of Go dies for each clue. If you want a copy, I will gladly PM it to you. Jane

Hmmm. I'm not sure what to make of this block. The contrast is not high between neutral and coral, so my eye is wandering, looking for a shape to focus on.
I'm sewing the coral triangles to clue #4, and the first one I measured was seriously undersized. Thankfully, the next few were better.
From Bonnie's wording today, it seems as if we might go longer than New Year's. It would really be something if we had a clue a day for a whole week! Still waiting for more aqua and the clue #3s.
