I have sewn one block and I can see a big oops. When I went scrambling for more reds I threw in a few too dark. I'm thinking that's going to be a problem later. I'm reluctant to change it.

Not sure yet if I'll go with a diagonal or straight set. I like them both. Sewbizgirl's set is gorgeous and I love NZquilter's sashings too.

So many beautiful blocks here and all the colors are terrific.

I like the contrast and richness of the darker reds.

I like Bonnie's aqua setting triangles, because to me it looks like the whole thing is floating on the lake - like the sunset reflected in the water.

That said, my colours are red/green/grey/cream - my blocks float in a sea of grey. But I kind of like it, so I plan to stick with Bonnie's layout - at least for one of my quilts (I'm splitting the blocks into 2 projects).

I know I have said I have decided how I will sew mine together, but I keep seeing other ideas everyone is having and I want to try those two. I still have time of course. Please keep the variations and inspirations coming!

Sue, that layout looks beautiful. Those ovals are very distinctive, and the block looks totally different taking out the coral triangle.

Imanna, I'm sorry you aren't liking the quilt in your colors!

I am loving the pictures, different layout ideas, and conversations!

It always amazes me when I see some fabrics that look identical to mine.

I am behind and I only did 1/3 of each of the directions. Lol! I am planning to do 13 blocks on the diagonal so 1, 3, 5, 3, 1 row layouts. I hope that will work and then I will use it as a center highlight in a scrappy donation quilt.

I know what you mean. I zoomed up on the photo that Bonnie posted on her blog in clue 8 with her blocks and she used two brown fabrics that I used! I was thrilled!

Well here is a pic, the point of no return. I assembled my first block. It is in strips, part of my master assembling/quilting plan. I still have units to make, but I think I am going to really like it.

So glad you posted your EQ layout options, DogHouseMom. It puts a new perspective on it and I also love the oval thing you've got going, hmmm.

Love your choice, Kassaundra. It's going to be beautiful.

The layout you posted from Instagram is gorgeous, Imanna what a happy riot.

    I love it, Kass!

Finished clue 2 tonight, whoopee. Hope to finish 3 tomorrow, will probably sew them together as well, then I can sew my geese into pairs, and on to block construction!
