KalamaQuilts, what an amazing adaptation of ORL!! How long did it take, lol! It is great!
Aunt Jo, you have a real winner there! Your brown sashing reminds me of tile. I love it!

This is what I have thus far. Now to get my borders on. Will use the sashing as an outer border. I did not like how my colors were playing for the sashing and I liked the four patches.

those are all beautiful Kalama--my favorite is the last one--is that the back you were making for the ORL?
AuntJo- that's a fantastic setting! I like it way better than BH's in the reveal.

I'm thinking I like the coral sashing blocks in a ribbon around, then a thin aqua border strip and a wider brown strip - maybe a brown print I have if it works... I found some soft colors I think will work to make a huge framed block for the backing

QuilterMomma, your version is lovely. For some reason, it looks especially lake-y to me.
I have one half of my top put together. Now I just have to do the same all over again. I am looking forward to experimenting with borders, and that is spurring me on. I am doing lots of adjusting of seams; they are not consistently matching up the first time around.

Lovely tops are being shown. I only did 1/3 of the pattern and used 13 blocks. It measures 45” square. I debated whether I would try to quilt it myself but, in the end, I decided to add borders and give the top to my church group to finish. I’m working on the borders now but here is the 45” square top:

Thanks, D. Henson.
The picture below doesn’t show the patterned cornerstones on the border very well. I needed to make the 45” quilt bigger for my church group. I like the 4 borders but I should have done something different on the corners. Oh well. Life goes on and someone will be kept warm with the quilt after my church group finishes it.
