AlvaStitcher,
I have that bird fabric, from JoAnn Fabrics. It's soooo cute, and the color is really lovely in person. I have some of that music fabric too. And the purple flower neutral, where did that come from? I think I got it from Whittles. :-) I think mixed in with your other corals, the bird fabric will be okay-- but it's all personal preference. I'd just be more selective with the neutral that I paired the bird print with. Since it's a busy dominant busy print, maybe put a calmer, plainer neutral next to it.

Sewbizgirl, I love the blues! They sure make for a pretty 9 patch.
I am going to try the no-waste method after I finish up the smallish pile of rectangles & squares for doing the sew & flip, which was the only way I had ever done flying geese.
I am piecing on my Featherweight, I just love working on the FW card table, so much space for all of my stuff:-) Plus my newist machine was built in 1959, so vintage it is! LOL
Speaking of vintage machines, I took a road trip today and picked up a 1933 Singer 99k in a bentwood case with a spoked wheel. The game plan is to convert it to a hand crank but it needs a good spa day first. As a bonus, I went to 2 quilt shops I had never been in and they were just wonderful stores. An all around great road trip, but so far today, no sewing.

I’m loving all the color choices. You’re all making great progress. It’s slow going for me. I started out with the 4 at a time method. My practice units measured OK so I cut all my fabric. Sewed a few and measured again. The results were not good. So now I’ve recut my fabric and am using the third method Bonnie showed. It’s working much better for me. I’m about 1/3 done.

I got two sheets at the thrift store last year, they are stripped. I think one is about to become the back of ORL. I will cut and piece them in the quartered square layout from Missouri quilting videos. I have an idea for assembling front and back qayg all at the same time. I will have to wait for reveal to make sure. That layout is why I got the sheets in the first place, just hadn't "planned" on them as the back for the mystery quilt until now.

Such a lovely little 99, Theresa! It has the same decals as my 1942 66-18. Next year I'm thinking of getting a 99. I would like a Featherweight but they cost so much.
Everyone is doing so well here on clue 2! I have not been able to fit any sewing in yet today, but I'm hoping I'll be able to finish cutting out all of my geese pieces this evening.

I am working on my clue 2. These units are so cute. I think doing the Bonnie Hunter Mysteries has made me a better piecer.
And scroll down not a guess so much as wanting to see how my colors look together. I put the units one and two next to each other.

Theresa, what a sweet 99.
Started on my flying geese today using the no waste method. Here's what I have so far.

I would use it. The print is small and the orange shows up plenty. It will give your quilt 'sparkle'.

I have 40 little candidates finished and that's all I can do till clue 3. Will be out of town till next Friday, no piecing but planning lots of hand quilting.
