On Ringo Lake -- Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt 2017-18

You can still use the Wrights ruler but have to draw a line 1/2" above the 2" line. I used a sharpie to do that and the line is still there 3 years later. Then I discovered the 4 at a time no waste method and the rest is history....

Here are a few geese from my much larger gaggle! My neutrals are a bit plain, but I was trying to use up some leftover bits and pieces from other projects.

Everyone's units are looking fantastic, and so much diversity in colors as well. It will be exciting to see all the different palettes once the quilt comes together.
Have not started yet. We moved house last year and I just recently got my new sewing studio 90% complete. Unfortunately the 10% that is not complete includes the box that (hopefully) has the presser feet for my Janome (my primary piecing machine). When I pulled the machine out and set it up it still had the hopping foot on it and that's the one foot I can't use for piecing. I do have my trusty Husky and I've been using that to paper piece a different project which is almost done ... once I finish that I'm going to go diving into that box to find my Janome feet!! Can't wait to get started.
I also want to get pictures of my new studio posted. Need to clean it up just a bit more, but I'm so happy with it so far. Except for the lighting ... the lighting is desperate!!

You get a lot dumped on you in the last "clue". Just sayin'... it won't be fast. You can get an idea by reading the threads from some previous BH mysteries that we did together here on the QB.

Everyone's geese and 9 patches look so good! I love the variation of color I am seeing. It' will be fun to see all these as quilts.
Love those beautiful batiks, Fraew.

SBG, I really enjoyed going through those three links of Bonnie Hunter mysteries you provided. I can see now how each of these little units come together at the very end. Originally I wondered if any of the units were sewn together before the final reveal. All the QB members are so supportive of one another while doing these mystery quilts, it was amazing to see the final outcome with everyone's finished quilts!

It is such fun seeing everyone's geese, which are looking wonderful!
Fraew, those batiks are gorgeous.
I am getting good results using the Folded Corner Ruler for my geese. It is a straightforward process. I don't like to draw lines and I don't like to trim, and I don't have to do either for these. Still a long way to go!

Thank you everyone for posting pictures and giving me permission to use regular cotton AND Batiks!!! Together!!!
Me and my silly thinking. I feel so free now!
I have always been a purest when combining fabrics -30's, civil war repros, batiks and such. Even solids, for the most part. Can't believe I was hung up on this idea for so long. Was I the only one?
With this years mystery, I could not pull enough of the teals and melons from my stash. I had some in batiks, some in regular cotton. And, seriously, I can't buy any more fabric. (But, yes, I still wanted to)
I got a late start with clue 1 over the weekend. I set out what I had, and decided to just start cutting and sewing and see what happens. I am so delighted with the results!
I'll try to get a photo to post. I only have a few done. I'm supposed to be packing for a trip to Florida - ahhh! so mush to do!
