Unity Quilt-along
#12
I too am not sure if I can realistically put in another project right now.. I am over my head in 3 major quilting projects. I have one almost done, another about half done and the other one ready to be quilted. That doesn't include the UFO's I really want to get going on.

Thanks Cattitude for starting this thread.
I started mine yesterday and hope to finish the first clue tomorrow. Since I am usually pretty busy as a substitute teacher in April, I figure I can do a few of these Quarantine/shelter in place quilt alongs since there won’t be a need for me this month with MN schools closed through May 4th. Plus, I only do tops generally. My church group finishes them.
I am cutting my fabric for the Elvira quilt that was a free Quarantine Quilt Along on the 22nd through GE Design. I will also be doing another one with the same company starting Friday so between Unity and these two, I will definitely keep busy using stash.

As always happens with Bonnie's patterns, I'm liking this center block more as I look at various examples and come to understand it better. I have a pretty brown fabric with orange flowers, which I'm going to consider my main fabric. I'm adding greens and purples as my two other colors. I'm going to make this as HSTs rather than the double diamonds, as that seemed a simpler route to me.

joe’smom: I thought of doing it with HSTs also but I had the correct dies so I could cut the parallelograms and triangles easily. Although I didn’t read the directions well because I was short 4 aqua pieces. Oh, well. They are cut and waiting now for me to sew tomorrow.

I used constant fabrics of each color for the block. My plan is to use different constant colors in each round. I think this will help calm the chaos, and I'll only need to pull out four fabrics each week, instead of everything!

That is beautiful. I am going with constants too. I just can't narrow down 1 or 2 of the fabrics.

JeanieG: I’m glad I wasn’t the only one missing the 4 aquas.
AngeliaNR: ! The yellow makes the red look dimensional.
Well, I still didn’t get mine done. Hopefully tomorrow I will be finished. I just need to press and then sew the rows together. I spent quite a bit of time in my sewing area this afternoon but there were other projects to work on too. Imagine that, Lol!
